Description of post-grunge music
Post-grunge is a subgenre of alternative rock music that emerged in the mid-1990s as a reaction to the popularity of grunge music. Post-grunge incorporates elements of grunge, such as distorted guitars and heavy, emotional lyrics, but often has a more polished sound and less overtly angst-filled lyrics. Post-grunge bands often focus on radio-friendly melodies and catchy hooks, and are characterized by a more mainstream sound than their grunge predecessors. Some of the most well-known post-grunge bands include Creed, Nickelback, and Three Days Grace.
